2021 Nissan Sentra Pricing, New Standard Features Revealed

After a complete redesign last year, Nissan’s compact sedan is back for the new model year with just a few updates. The 2021 Nissan Sentra has arrived at dealerships with additional tech goodies and a new paint option. Fortunately, prices haven’t changed much.

The base Sentra starts at $20,335, up $100 from last year. For that extra money, you get standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Previously, these features were limited to the two upper trims.

On the top-dog SR, the automaker is now offering NissanConnect Services, allowing drivers to access their Sentra via mobile app and call for emergency assistance when needed. The SR is also offering NissanConnect with Wi-Fi hotspot. Finally, SR buyers can choose a new Electric Blue Metallic paint job with a black roof.

The 2021 Nissan Sentra remains cheaper than the biggest players in the compact sedan segment, including the 2021 Honda Civic, which starts at $22,005, and the 2021 Toyota Corolla, priced from $20,920. And it offers a nice array of features for the starting price. Remember that the 2020 Sentra is a 2021 Car of the Year finalist for its value and style. That said, other cars in its segment, like the Civic, offer a little more engagement for the driver.

The sedan continues to use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. This power is routed through a continuously-variable transmission. The new engine is more potent than the previous-generation base Sentra, although upgraded models produced 188 hp. Along with the new engine, Nissan also made major improvements to interior quality.
