The updated Taycan is said to go on sale internationally from September this year.
Porsche has updated its all-electric Taycan model. The 2022 Porsche Taycan is now said to offer improved real-world range, lots of new tech inside and an array of exterior colour options as well.
Starting with the exterior updates, the 2022 Taycan now comes with a choice of 65 paint-to-sample options, in addition to the standard 17 colours offered earlier. These new paint-to-sample options also include a few heritage colours like RubyStone Red and Riviera Blue, along with others such as Acid Green, Moonlight Blue Metallic and many others.
Porsche also stated that the paint-to-sample customisation option on the Taycan now allows them to match the colour of the car with virtually anything.
Inside, the 2022 Porsche Taycan comes with minimal changes. However, the most significant update on the new model is the integration of the Android Auto onto the car’s infotainment unit. Porsche is also said to have slightly revamped the operating system, while also updating the voice assistant feature. The 2022 Taycan now also comes with Remote Park Assist, capable of parking even without the driver inside the car.
The most significant update on the 2022 Porsche Taycan though is the improved real-world range. While Porsche hasn’t mentioned the exact increase, it has stated that the Taycan has received numerous ‘technological advancements’ to help improve the range.
The 2022 Porsche Taycan is said to be capable of decoupling the front electric motors in Normal & Eco mode; allowing reduced frictional losses and increased range. Porsche states that no drive is offered to either axle when the car is coasting or at a standstill. However, the electric motors are switched on in milliseconds when the driver requires more power.
The updated Taycan is said to go on sale internationally from September this year. The updates will be offered on both the Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo versions. Prices will be unveiled at a slightly later stage.
