Mahindra’s strong performance in the small commercial vehicles (SCV) segment helped boost sales.
Mahindra has emerged as the no.1 commercial vehicle (CV) maker in India in the first half of FY2021. It replaces Tata Motors at the top of the sales chart.
Mahindra sold 62,896 units in the first half of FY2021. In comparison, second placed Tata Motors sold 61,368 units, followed by Ashok Leyland, which registered total sales of 21,332 units.
Mahindra’s strong performance in the small commercial vehicles (SCV) segment helped boost its sales numbers. The company sold 417 MHCVs and 62,479 SCVs and LCVs during this period. Tata Motors sold 11,254 MHCVs and 47,840 SCVs and LCVs. The company also delivered 2,274 buses during this period.
In the first half of FY2020, Tata Motors was at the top of the sales chart with 1,63,490 units, while Mahindra was in second place with 1,01,119 units.
