Rally-inspired 'A110 Tour de Corse 75' is on sale tomorrow

There have been some memorable rally-inspired special editions over the years – who can forget cars like the Subaru Impreza Catalunya and Ford Escort Mexico? Now there’s one more to add to the list, albeit celebrating a classic rather than contemporary event: the Alpina A110 Tour de Corse 75.
For those that don’t know (which included us), the 1975 Tour de Corse was a real car killer, with just 22 teams from the 77 entries making it to the finish. A yellow Alpine A110 with contrast black bonnet and roof was one of those finishers, taking second behind the victorious Lancia Stratos. This new 300hp special edition, based on the A110 S, pays homage to the Alpine icon that secured a podium on the rally of 10,000 corners.
Of course, it had to be yellow and black, which looks to be another colour scheme that works tremendously for the A110. It’s complemented by white graphics and wheels so everybody knows exactly which Alpine special edition this one is. The interior gets more of the same (and looks great for it), and the really committed can have harnesses for the Sabelt bucket seats if they wish. The newly update infotainment system for the A110 is also retained for the Tour de Corse.
Alpine will produce just 150 examples, a small batch even by the standards of limited run A110s. Each will get a numbered plaque, too. The UK is being allocated just five Tour de Corses, so it will be exceptionally rare over here. Customers are being invited to register their interest with Alpine centres from 09:00 tomorrow (June 17th), with prices starting from £66,855, which is a chunky premium from the £60k asked for a regular S. Does look cool, though.
