Toyota has recently opened bookings for the Urban Cruiser. The re-badged Maruti Vitara Brezza is the Japanese carmaker’s 7th offering in India.
But, that’s not it. It is said that Toyota could expand its India portfolio to upto 16 vehicles by 2022-23. Some of these might include the Hilux pickup, Fortuner facelift, RAV4, Yaris facelift and the Corolla Cross. Additionally 5 of these will be shared with Maruti. Toyota has communicated this to all dealers.
Toyota’s current range includes the Yaris sedan, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Camry and Vellfire. The company also offers the Glanza and Urban Cruiser under partnership with Maruti Suzuki. Toyota is also expected to add an Ertiga-based MPV and the Ciaz-based sedan to its line-up. The carmaker is also developing a Hyundai Creta rivaling crossover in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki.
