The Vauxhall Corsa was the most popular new car model in the UK in 2021, with 26,215 registered in 2021 to date. The Corsa has been one the most popular cars in the UK for many years now, with drivers enticed by the price, features and design of the vehicle.

It is followed by the Ford Fiesta in second place, with 23,521 registered in 2021 to date.

The 2022 Ford Fiesta has just been announced, with many praising the small hatchbacks design.

Prices for the new car start from £22,630, with many seeing this as being a direct competitor for the Hyundai i20 N.

The Ford Fiesta is also the most searched for second-hand car on Gumtree, the creators of the study.

Over the past 12 months, the iconic Fiesta has seen more than 1.2 million pageviews, more than 250,000 than any other car, and the only vehicle to surpass one million.

Another popular small hatchback came in third place, with 21,970 Volkswagen Golf’s registered so far.

The top three show a clear intention from UK consumers, that post-pandemic, most drivers want a smaller car, especially with fewer journeys being made.

Since the pandemic, figures have shown a 12 percent increase in the value of the second-hand car market in the UK.
