Limited EV driving range is quickly becoming a non-issue
2021 is going to be a good year for electric vehicles, and for the first time ever, there will be at least a dozen EVs available with over 300 miles of driving range. E For Electric took the time to list all of them and even noted the vehicles that have different trims with different range ratings.
The host, Alex Guberman, points out in the beginning that Toyota makes an EV that has more than 400 miles of range, the Mirai. However, that electric vehicle happens to be powered by hydrogen and is only available in California, so he doesn’t add it to the list he’s complied.
Guberman uses the current range for the Tesla Model S and X, but the refreshed versions of those vehicles are due to launch any day now and will have new battery technology with longer driving ranges.
Here’s a rundown of the vehicles E For Electric included:
- Tesla Model S ($79,990): 412 miles
- Tesla Model X ($89,990): 360 miles
- Tesla Model 3 ($46,990): 353 miles
- Tesla Model Y ($49,990): 326 miles
- Lucid Air Dream Edition ($169,000): 503 miles
- Lucid Air Grand Touring ($139,000): 517 miles
- Lucid Air Touring ($95,000): 406 miles
- Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 ($49,800): 305 miles
- Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium ($47,000): 300 miles
- Rivian R1T ($75,000): 300+ miles
- Rivian R1S ($77,500): 300+ miles
- BMW i4 (Price unknown): ~300 miles
- Mercedes EQS (Price unknown): ~370 miles
- Nissan Ariya (Approx $40,000): ~300 miles
- GM Hummer EV ($112,595) 350 miles
