Toto Wolff has not ruled out Sebastian Vettel potentially investing in his new team Aston Martin and becoming a shareholder.
After months of speculation, Vettel was finally confirmed as an Aston Martin driver for the 2021 season on the eve of the Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello.
And Wolff, who also has shares in Aston Martin, thinks Vettel may be tempted to do the same if he sees value in the brand once he has fully made his switch from Ferrari.
“First and foremost, Sebastian is a racing driver,” Wolff said via Auto Bild.
“It’s about the performance on the track. But that doesn’t mean that he might not buy a few shares as well – especially if the company is still valued low. This opportunity is there of course.”
Vettel, though, has consistently said that money was not a major motivation for him continuing in Formula 1 and with Aston Martin.
Instead the overall project with the rebranded team and trying to get them towards the top rungs on the Formula 1 ladder is what excites the four-time World Champion.

“It’s a new adventure for me with a truly legendary car company,” Vettel said.
“I have been impressed with the results the team has achieved this year and I believe the future looks even brighter.
“The energy and commitment of Lawrence [Stroll] to the sport is inspiring and I believe we can build something very special together.
“I still have so much love for Formula 1 and my only motivation is to race at the front of the grid. To do so with Aston Martin will be a huge privilege.”
“I’m looking forward to the change because I believe we can do well,” he continued.
“I believe the team has huge potential.
“There’s some really good, clever people on board and I’m looking forward to help and show those qualities are there and demonstrate that as well with results.”
